What is a Utility area Network?

Perhaps you have even attemptedto translate Monitoring computer jargon into real language a regular person can
understand? It's nearly impossible! It's much like computer junkies don't want us commoners
understand what they may be discussing. Take, for example, a utility area network. Ever since i do not know
anything relating to this topic, I decide to search the web for information. My results include
reference to information likely developed in an overseas language.

Never to pick on Wikipedia, however definition was the first I ran across. All the others I
found were nearly badly when describing storage space networks. Based on Wikipedia,
"In computing, a Storage space Network (SAN) is surely an architecture to attach remote computer
storage devices for example disk array controllers, tape libraries and CD arrays to server in such a
way that for the operating system the devices appear as locally attached devices...By comparison to a
SAN, Network Attached Storage (NAS), uses file-based protocols such as NFS or SMB/CIFS
where it is clear that the storage is remote, and computers request a percentage of your abstract file
as opposed to a disk block."

What? I do believe I am aware less about what a SAN or storage area network is than before Someone said the
definition. I suppose there needs to be a special dictionary published just for computer jargon.
Specially when they borrow another word commonly used to mean something different. This
definition calls a storage space network an architecture. When I consider architecture, I
automatically think of a certain building style, like Tudor architecture. Who would have
ever guessed you might like to make use of the term architecture to explain the way you create a computer
system. Do you want your Apple Macbook Pro with Tudor architecture or Victorian
architecture? Sorry, however had to look this term as much as learn what it meant in computer jargon.
Should you have to find information about the phrase a definition?

The following point that bothers me about computer definitions is the number of acronyms they'll use. If
I'm not sure what something means and have to look up a definition, I probably also have no idea
exactly what the acronyms indicate. Spell them out, please! For instance, what exactly is NSF? How about
SMB/CIFS? For many I know, they're contagious diseases.

I assume it just proves there exists a part of the brain that thinks just like a computer. Similar to most other
talents, you either get it or you don't. While one individual can see the definition of a utility area
network and come away having a clear notion of exactly what the term means, some people cannot wrap our
brains across the idea. Virtualization

What I gather from what I read is that a Storage space Network may be the software and hardware
which makes the Storage Area Network architecture work. Unless you configure and fasten the
SAN properly, there's no connectivity between others.
